It all began with a father and daughter team...
In 1998, our love for Persian food together with sweet memories of family gatherings whilst growing up inspired us to open our first restaurant "ANAHITA" on Longueville Road, Lane Cove. Our humble 80 seat capacity restaurant carried our dream; to make Persian cuisine known to Australians and to have a place were fellow Persians could come and enjoy a night out with our home made food.
In 2002 we made a bigger decision to move in to our current location Burns Bay road, lane cove. We can now seat up to 180 guests catering for all occasions such as dinner for two, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, kitchen teas, engagements, christenings, outside catering for up to 1000 people and many more happy occasions.
A father and daughter team, we personally source and handpick fresh local produce from our local markets and only work with trustworthy suppliers. We are passionate about the quality and taste of our traditional persian cuisine and hold high standards in our customer service offering.
We have been proudly trading for 20 years in 2018. A couple of years ago Jalal retired and Sabrina has continued to operate the business with her husband Alofa as the newest family member at Persian basement. Given Jalal's passion and love for the establishment, he continues to be the manager of our PERSIAN BASEMENT. Together they run Sydney's most established Persian Restaurant.
